Description
The cutting angle of our shears (angle between lower and upper blade) is 1° to 1.2°. This prevents deformation of the sheet in the cutting direction, the cut edges of the sheared sheets remain absolutely straight.
Due to the small cutting angle, the cutting forces are high. These cutting forces cause an elastic deformation of the shear body. The cause of the shear shock in mechanically or hydraulically driven shears is the very rapid relaxation of the shear body at the end of the cutting process.
Our shears have a highly dynamic, electric drive. For more than 90% of the cutting stroke, the cutting speed is high. Shortly before the end of the cut, the electric drive reduces the cutting speed extremely quickly. This gives the shear body time to relax slowly. A shear shock is thus avoided. The speed profile of the electric drive automatically adapts to the sheet width.
The cutting cycle time of our shear-shock-free shears is the same as for conventional shears.
